Gorilla Grilled Cheese Mobile Truck
Food trucks abound and it’s unclear whether or not we’ve reached the pinnacle of the high holy mobile food days. Sure hope not because this kind of dining is still too much fun. Cheese on the fly. Yes. One of the top guns in snag a parking spot and serve up some golden comfort is the Gorilla Grilled Cheese Truck.
There’s a special cheese combo of the day in addition to your triple brie, gruyere, classic american offerings on freshly made breads…and sides range from creamy tomato soup (the traditional combo of course) to tater tots, vidalia onion dipping sauce, bbq pulled pork and grilled s’more sandwiches for dessert. It’s a fairly extensive menu but for today’s sandwich (and GC’s very first time in my neighborhood!) I went for simple perfection. Multi grain bread with smoked mozzarella. That seductive first bite takes you straight to the last wisp of crust in a blur. The crispness snaps at your teeth, the grains popping as you pass through creamy buttered wheat to the cracker jack prize – velvety piquant smoky cheese slipping over your tongue. It’s a molecular extravaganza in your mouth. And then you do it again. Ohhh bitings of comfort and joy.
You can follow and find them on twitter @gcnyc1 or check http://www.tweat.it to see where this or any trucks might be in your neighborhood.
